The BMW X3 M Competition and X4 M Competition unveil their restyle and mechanical improvements
After presenting the restyle of the BMW X3 and X4, the brand now announces the redesign of the X3 M Competition and X4 M Competition and the mechanical improvements applied

If a few days ago it was the BMW X3 and X4 that unveiled their new look, now it is the turn of their high-performance versions, known as M Competition, which, after two years on the market, are renewing their exterior and interior styling and will also offer mechanical improvements, although the latter are not especially significant.
Just as happened with their “more modest” variants, the BMW X3 M Competition and X4 M Competition feature a front end with a grille in which the kidney openings are now slightly larger, and between them they incorporate the iCam, with Full LED headlights with a more aggressive and sharper design, while the front bumper has been completely modified with a central air intake that gives a greater sense of width and side air intakes that now gain height and lose width.
On the sides there are no significant changes, but at the rear things change, especially on the X3 M Competition, with a generously sized rear light cluster and a new light signature. In addition, it gains robustness and sportiness thanks to a new rear bumper with much more pronounced lines, reinforced by the diffuser painted in gloss black. This colour gains even more presence on the X4 M Competition, as it forms part of the diffuser and extends upward in its central section with a trim surrounding the number plate area. It is also worth noting that BMW has expanded the body colour palette with three new shades, all supported by the always appealing options from BMW Individual to make our car even more personal.

Inside, although surrounded by an atmosphere that breathes sportiness from every side, the changes found in their smaller siblings also carry over to the M Competition variants. This means that both the X3 M Competition and the X4 M Competition feature a redesign focused especially on the centre console, with simplified controls and a new design for the air vents, especially the central ones, while above them sits the new screen of the infotainment system, which will be 12.3 inches as standard and will be complemented by the BMW Live Cockpit Professional. In the gear selector area there are now new buttons both for starting the engine and for accessing specific functions for the mechanical configuration.

Under the bonnet of the BMW X3 M Competition and X4 M Competition we will still find the 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which has been slightly updated with a new, lighter crankshaft, allowing torque to increase by 50 Nm to reach 650 Nm, while power remains at 510 CV, and the transmission is still the M Steptronic eight-speed automatic, which sends power to all four wheels thanks to the xDrive system. With these improvements both models now manage to reduce their acceleration to 100 km/h to below 4 seconds, specifically 3.8 seconds, with a top speed limited to 250 km/h, although with the M Drivers Package this can be raised to 285 km/h.

The BMW X3 M Competition and the X4 M Competition are expected to go on sale this summer, although to find out more precisely both the standard equipment and their specific prices for our country we will have to wait a little longer, as the brand has not yet revealed them.
