The new Peugeot E-208 GTi is now a reality in Spain: the brand announces its prices and opens orders
Peugeot announces the final specifications of the new E-208 GTi and, without further delay, begins accepting orders, so we now also know its prices

A year ago, Peugeot announced its plans for a fully electric sporty version of the 208 with the presentation of a prototype, which now becomes a reality through the E-208 GTi in its production version, which the brand has rushed to bring to market, including in Spain, where orders can already be placed at the official Peugeot dealerships.
The Peugeot E-208 GTi features a design very similar to its conventional sibling, with standout elements such as the daytime running lights formed by three horizontal “claws” that create a distinctive light signature, which is also carried over to the rear. It also has its own identifying features, such as the specific grille and the 18-inch wheels inspired by those fitted to the 205 GTI in its day, a nod to design that also helps with cooling, framed by wheel arches that are widened to accommodate a larger track width.

Another identifying feature on the exterior of the Peugeot E-208 GTi is the front skirt in body colour and the rear diffuser in gloss black, which also integrates the LED fog light. It also features red aesthetic details that signal which version we are looking at, present in areas such as the grille, headlights, wheel arches, front brake calipers, rear spoiler and the various badges. Speaking of colours, the E-208 GTi will be available in seven body colours, some of which also pay a special tribute to the 205 GTI.

Inside the Peugeot E-208 GTi, we find a cabin equipped with sporty front seats exclusive to this version, which once again recall the 205 GTI through the red central insert and red mesh details; there are also other nods on elements such as the floor mats, the pedal covers and the red seatbelts, a colour that is also present in all the stitching throughout the cabin, as well as on the compact steering wheel with perforated leather and an upper section in Alcantara.

In the technology area of the Peugeot E-208 GTi, the colour red also plays an important role, as it is present on the digital displays, with red being the predominant colour, and it also appears in the ambient lighting (red by default, alongside seven additional colours). The displays also show specific performance information and, to create atmosphere, it features a sound ambience linked to engine speed, which can be switched on or off according to preference.

Mechanically, the Peugeot E-208 GTi is equipped with the “M4+” electric motor, which delivers 281 CV and 345 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed limited to 180 km/h. Part of this electric system is the 54 kWh gross capacity battery, which provides 352 km of range according to WLTP when fitted with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres supplied as standard (375 km with the Hankook Ventus S1 Evo3 tyres offered as an option at no extra cost). This battery can be charged in 2 h 55 min with an 11 kW Wallbox, or go from 20 % to 80 % in 27 minutes with a 100 kW DC charger, and it also features V2L technology.

Continuing with the mechanical aspects, the Peugeot E-208 GTi has a body lowered by 27 mm compared with the E-208, and it also includes solutions that improve its driving dynamics, such as an additional 31 mm rear anti-roll bar or a limited-slip mechanical differential integrated into the reduction gear. On top of all this, it also fits specific springs and exclusive dampers with hydraulic bump stops, not forgetting 355 mm front brake discs with 4-piston fixed calipers (the rear brakes are the same as those fitted to the E-208).
As we mentioned at the beginning, the new Peugeot E-208 GTi can now be ordered in Spain from a starting price of 41,800 euros, although if you finance through the brand itself, it will benefit from a discount bringing the starting price down to 38,800 euros.
