BMW begins sales in South Korea of its first model of the Neue Klasse
With this launch, BMW takes an important step in the South Korean market toward the new era of electric mobility, combining performance, efficiency and cutting-edge technology.
The Bavarian manufacturer has begun sales in South Korea of the new iX3, the brand’s first series-production vehicle to use the innovative Neue Klasse platform. This electric SUV represents a major technological leap for the brand, incorporating the sixth generation of the eDrive system and an 800-volt architecture, which allows it to offer a range of up to 611 kilometres and a charging power of 400 kW.
South Korean customers who take the wheel of the new iX3 will thus be able to carry out ultra-fast charging, reaching 80 per cent battery charge -from 10 per cent- in just 21 minutes. Another notable figure is that, with just 10 minutes of charging, the new iX3 can recover an additional 250 km of range under South Korean homologation standards.

In South Korea, the iX3 offers a homologated range of 611 kilometres per charge, while under the WLTP cycle used in Europe it reaches 805 kilometres. In the South Korean market, BMW sells only the iX3 50 xDrive version, with two electric motors delivering a combined 469 horsepower. This version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.
The most advanced that BMW can offer today
One of the most outstanding elements of this new SUV from BMW is the high-voltage battery pack with cylindrical cells it features. According to the Bavarian manufacturer, the new chemistry and cell design increase energy density by 20 per cent, and improve charging performance and range by 30 per cent compared with the previous generation. BMW has opted for a cell-to-pack design, which integrates the cells directly into the pack, and a Pack to Open Body concept that structurally joins the battery to the body. This optimises space, reduces weight and increases torsional rigidity, improving both efficiency and dynamic behaviour.
The iX3 also introduces a new vehicle software and control architecture, with four powerful computers -called Superbrains– that independently manage dynamics, driver assistance systems, infotainment and core functions. Their processing capacity is up to 20 times greater than that of previous generations.

In the dynamic area, the new Heart of Joy system stands out, integrating acceleration, steering, braking and energy recovery in a single control unit. This enables faster and more precise responses, improving stability, traction and regenerative braking performance.
Inside, the BMW Panoramic iDrive draws attention, projecting driving information across the entire windscreen between the A-pillars, complemented by a 3D head-up display and a large central screen tilted 17.5 degrees towards the driver.

In South Korea, the iX3 is offered in three trim levels: SE, M Sport and M Sport Pro. Prices start at 79.9 million won -around 45,600 euros at current exchange rates- for the SE version and rise to 91.9 million won -52,400 euros- for the top-of-the-range M Sport Pro. First deliveries will begin on 6 July.
