Pirelli renews its winter tyre range with the new Cinturato Winter 3
Pirelli renews its winter tyres and presents the new Cinturato Winter 3, now with an exceptional balance between grip and durability

All-season tyres are already a common sight on our roads, especially on the northern plateau and mountain areas of our country, with more and more drivers fitting them to their vehicles thanks to the advantages they offer in any kind of weather, particularly on snow and rain. However, for those who travel through high mountain areas with cold climates and snow at the first sign of change, winter tyres, the traditional ones, remain the best option.
In this regard, Pirelli is renewing its winter tyre range with the new Cinturato Winter 3, which replace the Cinturato Winter 2 that the Italian brand launched around this same time in 2021, and which join an offering that also includes the recent P Zero Winter 2 for high-performance cars and the Scorpion Winter 2, aimed at high-performance SUVs.
The new Pirelli Cinturato Winter 3, like its predecessor, is designed for passenger cars and crossovers, and it outperforms its competitors in braking, traction and handling tests on snow, as well as its excellent behaviour in wet conditions. This has earned it the seals of independent bodies such as Dekra and the TÜV Premium Quality Mark. On this last point, it is worth highlighting that it ranks at the very top of the lists for resistance to aquaplaning and handling, which has earned it an A-B wet grip rating on the energy label across the entire range, as well as low rolling noise, with a B rating on the energy label.

The Pirelli Cinturato Winter 3 will be available in more than 35 sizes for rims ranging from 16 to 20 inches, thus covering most brands and models. This new evolution stands out mainly for its completely new tread pattern, featuring a new zig-zag channel that helps evacuate water more effectively, while the optimised sipes and Snow Keeper teeth retain snow for better snow-on-snow grip, all without compromising wet performance at any time.
For the development of these Cinturato Winter 3, Pirelli drew on all the knowledge acquired during the development of the Zero Winter 2, applying among its components a Dual-Core polymer, which creates a dual structure that increases grip in different conditions. But what undoubtedly makes the difference today are virtualisation techniques such as the Virtual Compounder, a tool developed by Pirelli and based on regenerative AI, which speeds up the identification and understanding of the best combinations of materials needed to formulate the compounds, along with the use of Virtual Development techniques which, in the case of the Cinturato Winter 3, have made it possible to unify opposing characteristics such as mileage and resistance to aquaplaning.
As winter approaches, Pirelli has already put the new Cinturato Winter 3 on sale in Spain, as I mentioned at the beginning, in more than 35 sizes for rims ranging from 16 to 20 inches, also including, in selected sizes, ELECT technology to increase the range of electric and plug-in hybrid cars by up to 10%, and the Pirelli Noise Cancelling System (PNCS), which reduces rolling noise inside the cabin by using a special sound-absorbing material applied to the inside of the tyre.
