The SEAT Tarraco expands its range with the 245 CV petrol engine with DSG 4Drive
The SEAT Tarraco in FR trim will soon have a sporty petrol engine, the 2.0 TSI with 245 CV of power

The Tarraco proudly stands as the flagship SUV of SEAT’s line-up, but although it has been with us for some time, its range is still being completed. In fact, last October it expanded its offer with the option of front-wheel drive combined with the 2.0 150 CV diesel engine, a version aimed at private customers who do not need the services of the 4Drive system, and especially at company fleets.
Now the SEAT Tarraco continues to expand its offer to reach an even wider audience, but this time we are going to the other extreme, specifically for the customer who wants a greater dose of sportiness both in its styling and in the performance hidden under its bonnet. Until now this mission was handled by the 2.0 TDI engine with 200 CV, although if we wanted our Tarraco to be greener, one could opt for the e-Hybrid version, which increases the power to 245 CV.

Precisely this power of the e-Hybrid version will now be matched by the introduction of a new option with a traditional combustion engine. For this, the SEAT Tarraco will use the 2,000 cc TSI engine, an inline four-cylinder with which we will have a power output of 245 CV together with a torque of 370 Nm, paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox that sends the power to all four wheels thanks to the 4Drive system. With this configuration the SEAT Tarraco reaches 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 228 km/h, while its combined consumption will range between 8.4 and 9.2 l/100 km, along with CO2 emissions of between 191 and 208 g/km (figures obtained under the WLTP test cycle).
This engine will be available for both the 5-seat and 7-seat versions, although it will be exclusively paired with the FR trim, which ensures a sporty look matching the engine it carries. On the outside, we will find a grille with a specific mesh design and a front bumper whose lower section has a slightly different design; on the sides there are new mouldings, widened wheel arches and mirror housings painted in body colour; and finally, among other elements, a rear spoiler and 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels, which can optionally be 20-inch.

Inside, the SEAT Tarraco FR benefits from sports bucket seats upholstered in Alcantara and leather, a gear lever also trimmed in leather, a multifunction sports steering wheel, sports pedals, black roof lining and chrome inserts, among other features.
For now SEAT has not revealed when the Tarraco FR with this engine will be available in Spain, nor its price, but they have said that production will begin this same week at the Wolfsburg plant.
