Xpeng launches its P7+ saloon in Europe for less than 50,000 euros

In 2026, the brand plans to launch four new models in Europe, consolidating its expansion with local production at the Magna Steyr plant in Austria and focusing on offering a high level of innovation, but at affordable prices.

The Xpeng P7+ represents the Chinese brand’s latest bid to conquer the European market. Unveiled in advance at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, this 5.07-metre-long electric saloon is presented, in the manufacturer’s own words, as a vehicle “defined by artificial intelligence”, going beyond the usual focus on software.

In this sense, Xpeng refers to the concept of “physical AI”, with which it seeks to make the advanced technology integrated into the vehicle tangible, a concept also present in other projects of the company, currently limited to the Chinese market, such as flying taxis, humanoid robots or robotaxi services.

In Europe, for now, the ambassador of this concept will be the P7+, built on the company’s 800-volt SEPA 2.0 platform, optimised for pure electric vehicles. Although it shares the P7 name with the previous model and its sportier evolution that we will not see in Europe, the P7+ has a completely different approach, as it is aimed at families who value elegant design, a large boot, high range and ultra-rapid charging.

Three versions available at launch

–Standard Range with rear-wheel drive and a 61.7 kWh battery pack, thanks to which it can cover up to 455 km under the WLTP homologation cycle, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 6.9 seconds. This version has a sale price in Germany of 46,600 euros.
– Long Range, also rear-wheel drive but with a higher-capacity 74.9 kWh battery pack that increases its range to 530 km WLTP, with a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration of 6.2 seconds. This version is sold in Germany from 49,600 euros.
– Performance, at the top of the range, with all-wheel drive in this case delivering a combined output of 367 kW and equipped with the same high-capacity 74.9 kWh battery pack. This version slightly reduces its range to 500 km WLTP and its acceleration to 4.3 seconds. Its price in Germany starts at 53,600 euros.

It is also worth noting that the battery packs of these three versions use exclusively LFP cells, which are cheaper and more durable, although with lower energy density than NMC. The explanation for this decision by the Chinese manufacturer is that Xpeng prioritises efficiency and charging times over integrating very large-capacity battery packs.

Blink and you’ll miss it

The Xpeng P7+ thus stands out for its 5C ultra-fast charging capability, with peaks of up to 446 kW and an average around 375 kW. At an ultra-fast charging point this saloon from Xpeng can increase the charge level from 10 to 80 per cent in just 12 minutes, adding only a couple of minutes more at conventional stations with a maximum power of 350 kW, more common in Europe.

Once inside the vehicle, what stands out most is its spaciousness. Four adults travel with exceptional comfort, with ample legroom and headroom in the rear seats, electrically adjustable seats, heating, ventilation and massage, even in the rear seats on the higher versions. The boot offers 573 litres, expandable up to 1,931 litres with the seats folded, plus a space under the floor for charging cables. This model does not, however, have a front boot, and its towing capacity is limited to 1.5 tonnes.

Standard equipment includes numerous driver assistance systems, 3.3 kW V2L, adaptive suspension and front seats with massage. The versions with the higher-capacity battery pack add 20-inch wheels, an 8-inch rear screen and a higher level of comfort in the rear seats.
