Lepas L4 and L6: two new and interesting electric SUVs... with PHEV versions on the way

Lepas expands its offensive in Spain with the new L4 EV and L6 EV, two electric SUVs arriving in early 2027 with up to 450 km of range, and which will also have PHEV versions.

During the dynamic presentation of the Lepas L8 we had the opportunity to see the new Lepas L4 and Lepas L6 static, two key models for the brand’s expansion in Spain. For now, the units shown corresponded to their 100% electric versions, called L4 EV and L6 EV, although both models will also later have plug-in hybrid PHEV variants. With these two SUVs, Lepas will complete a range made up of models of different sizes and propulsion technologies. Above them sits the L8 Super Hybrid, already available in the brand’s dealer network, while the new L4 and L6 will cover the small C and C segments with a proposal more oriented towards electric mobility.

In terms of design, the L4 EV and L6 EV follow the brand’s “Leopard Aesthetics” design language, but with their own interpretation for the electric versions. The front, completely closed and with cleaner lines, is very different from that of the Lepas L8 PHEV, where the large front grille has much more prominence. On the L4 EV and L6 EV the look is more technological, more aerodynamic and differentiated within the Lepas family.

Lepas L6 EV: a mid-size electric SUV with up to 450 km of range

Lepas L6 1

The Lepas L6 EV will be the brand’s electric proposal for the C-SUV segment. It measures 4.57 metres long, 1.85 metres wide and 1.68 metres high, with a wheelbase of 2.70 metres. In size, it sits below the L8, but keeps a family-oriented approach and a cabin designed to offer good interior space. The exterior design maintains the key features of the Lepas family, adapted to an electric SUV. The closed front, stylised LED headlights and clean surfaces give it a more fluid look than the L8 PHEV, where the grille clearly defines the car’s personality.

Its propulsion system combines a 65 kWh LFP battery with a 160 kW electric motor, equivalent to 217 CV, and 275 Nm of maximum torque. With this configuration, the L6 EV claims a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds and a range of up to 450 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. DC fast charging reaches a maximum power of 120 kW, allowing the battery to recover from 30 to 80% in about 22 minutes. It also features a 3.3 kW V2L function, a solution that allows external electrical devices to be powered using the energy stored in the vehicle’s battery.

The chassis development has involved a specific tuning for Europe. The L6 EV incorporates electric power steering and the Bosch IBP 2.0 braking system, designed to improve braking, energy recovery and pedal feel. Inside, the L6 EV opts for a clean and technological presentation. The cabin features a vertical central touchscreen of 13.2 inches and a digital instrument cluster of 8.88 inches. The infotainment system uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor and has a voice assistant to control various functions through spoken commands.

The boot offers 410 litres of capacity, expandable up to 1,334 litres by folding down the rear seats. In addition, there are another 99 litres under the floor, a useful solution for storing charging cables or other items outside the main boot area, although this area is compartmentalised with a polyspan piece which, at least on the pre-series units we saw, can be temporarily removed but not to place the load floor in a lower position, which would allow gaining a large amount of boot capacity. It is possible that on the final units the boot could be adjusted to two heights.

Among the planned equipment are a panoramic roof, dual-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel and a 50 W cooled wireless charger for mobile phones.

Lepas L4 EV: more compact format, same claimed range

Lepas L4 1

The Lepas L4 EV will be the most compact model in the brand’s new electric range. It falls into the small C segment and measures 4.42 metres long, 1.82 metres wide and 1.63 metres high. The wheelbase is also 2.70 metres, a figure that helps offer a cabin ready for five occupants. Like the L6 EV, the L4 EV is built on the LEXP smart platform, a base designed to integrate electrification, connectivity, safety and efficient energy management. Although the units seen corresponded to the electric version, Lepas also plans PHEV variants for this model.

In design, the L4 EV follows the same visual philosophy as the L6 EV, with a closed front, stylised headlights and a body with fluid lines. The L4 EV’s propulsion system uses an electric motor producing 218 CV and 275 Nm of maximum torque. The battery is LFP, with 65 kWh of capacity, and allows a claimed range of up to 450 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Its declared performance includes a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h. Fast charging supports a maximum power of 120 kW and allows going from 30 to 80% battery in approximately 22 minutes. These figures are very similar to those of the L6 EV, showing that both models share much of their technical approach.

Lepas L4 2

The interior of the L4 EV also features a simple and modern digital architecture. It incorporates an 8.8-inch instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch vertical central touchscreen. The technological equipment includes a multimodal voice assistant and a 50 W cooled wireless charger for mobile phones. The boot here offers 458 litres of capacity, a figure higher than that of the L6 EV due to the polyspan piece the L6 has under the floor; if it could be removed and the floor placed in the lower position, the L6 would comfortably exceed 500 litres. In the case of the L4, it can be expanded up to 1,284 litres by folding down the second row. The cabin also has 34 storage compartments, allows a flat loading surface to be created, and adds a second storage space under the front bonnet.

Lepas L4 3

With the new L4 EV and L6 EV, Lepas is preparing an offensive that will expand its presence in Spain beyond the L8 Super Hybrid. The brand will thus combine electric and plug-in hybrid models in different sizes, with an SUV range that will seek to cover everything from urban and family use to larger proposals with greater range.
