Opel Mokka GSE: the high-performance version of the German crossover goes on sale in Europe
From now on, all Opel vehicles entitled to wear the iconic GSE badge will be fully electric.
Opel has just unveiled the most radical and sporty version of its Mokka crossover, under the GSE initials, marking a milestone since from now on this iconic badge will be reserved exclusively for the high-performance electric models of the German manufacturer.
Initially linked to the concept of Grand Sport Injection, the GSE acronym now refers to Grand Sport Electric, a change that began with the Astra GSE plug-in hybrid and is now consolidated with this fully electric Mokka.

The Mokka GSE shares the e-CMP platform, motor and battery with other models in the Stellantis group, such as the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, the Abarth 600e, the Peugeot e-208 GTI or the Lancia Ypsilon HF. Its permanent-magnet synchronous motor, located on the front axle, delivers 207 kW and 345 Nm of torque available in Sport mode. Although Opel has not detailed the exact weight, it claims it will be below 1.6 tonnes, making it slightly lighter than the conventional electric Mokka, with the efficiency and on-road performance benefits that this implies.
The most radical Mokka
Capable of reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.9 seconds and with an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h, the Mokka GSE is currently the fastest electric model in the brand’s range. Equipped with a 54 kWh gross (50.8 kWh net) NMC battery pack, this model can travel up to 336 km on a single charge under the WLTP homologation cycle. Its range is therefore slightly shorter than that of the conventional Mokka, which reaches 407 km. A difference that should come as no surprise given the more performance-oriented approach of this GSE version.

Inspired by the Mokka Rally car recently presented, this version features upgrades to high-voltage components such as the inverter and wiring. Added to this is a Torsen limited-slip differential on the front wheels, which optimises traction and improves grip in corners, especially in wet conditions. The sport suspension with dual hydraulic dampers, recalibrated electric steering, improved brakes with yellow GSE calipers and 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres complete a package developed to make driving on the road enjoyable.
Stylistically, the Mokka GSE maintains a discreet profile, with details such as the large wheels and the GSE badges on the bodywork as its main distinguishing features. Inside, the aluminium pedals stand out, as do the GSE sport seats in Alcantara, with yellow stitching and a design inspired by the world of rallying, offering excellent lateral support and great comfort. Additionally, the 10-inch central touchscreen is also worth highlighting , which includes graphics specifically geared towards performance analysis, displaying data such as battery temperature, G-forces and acceleration times.

The Mokka GSE will make its official debut at the IAA Mobility show in Munich this coming September, and the first deliveries are expected to take place in the last quarter of the year, though no specific date has been confirmed. Its retail price is not yet known either, although it is estimated to start at around 45,000 euros, some 9,000 euros more than the conventional Mokka.
