Deliveries of the Volvo EX60 begin in Europe
With the EX60, Volvo consolidates its transition to electric mobility while maintaining its traditional focus on safety, quality and sustainability.
Volvo has begun delivering to its European customers the first units of the Volvo EX60 rolling off the assembly line. This premium mid-size electric SUV marks an important step in the Swedish brand’s transition to electric mobility. The EX60 has been produced at the Swedish Torslanda plant since last April, as we already reported at the time here at HighMotor.
The EX60 is the first fully electric car designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Sweden. Volvo expects this new model to boost the economy of Gothenburg and of Sweden as a whole.

The first units of the series production version of the EX60 came off the assembly line in April and, three months later, have reached their new owners. Volvo expects a strong increase in deliveries during the second half of the year, driven by the model’s warm reception. This new premium electric SUV is now available across the European market, and orders have recently opened in the American market as well.
Three versions to choose from
Officially presented last January, the EX60 is the first vehicle from the brand based on the SPA3 electric drive platform that uses an 800-volt architecture. This technology delivers superior performance, better efficiency and a much faster charging process.
At launch, Volvo offers three versions: the entry-level rear-wheel-drive version with 275 kW of power and an 80 kWh battery; an intermediate all-wheel-drive version with 375 kW and a 91 kWh net battery; and, at the top of the range, the P12 AWD version, which the brand describes as the most powerful production Volvo in its history. This last one delivers 500 kW, has a 112 kWh battery and offers a WLTP range of up to 810 kilometres.

The all-wheel-drive versions stand out for their ultra-rapid charging capability, with power reaching up to 370 kW, which allows the battery to go from 10 to 80 per cent in about 19 minutes. These figures place this new model from the Swedish manufacturer in a genuinely competitive position within the mid-size electric SUV segment, where it competes with models such as the BMW iX3, the Mercedes-Benz GLC and Chinese models that also use 800-volt architecture.
In North America, the EX60 is already available for orders, and in the United States its base price starts at 58,400 dollars, excluding transport charges. This model also has the distinction of being the first Volvo model to feature the NACS connector as standard in this market, which allows its owners to access the Tesla Supercharger network directly without adapters.
