Ferrari Luce Electric Cars Supercars
Remember this name! The first electric Ferrari will be called Luce and it will be an SUV
With the Luce, Ferrari confirms its commitment to an intuitive, functional and exciting interior, where electric technology enhances the connection between driver and machine without sacrificing the brand’s sporting heritage.
Ferrari has just revealed the official name of its first production fully electric model. Until now, the project was known internally and provisionally as Elettrica, but the Italian brand has finally opted for a name with much more character: Ferrari Luce.
The Italian word “Luce” means “Light” and, in this case, it was not chosen at random. According to the Italian manufacturer, electrification is not an end in itself, but a means to illuminate a new path, blending tradition, innovation and emotion behind the wheel. The Ferrari Luce will be the first fully electric model from the Italian manufacturer to embody this concept.

Ferrari has already shared some technical details of what will be its first electric model. This model will feature a system with two independent electric axles and four permanent magnet synchronous motors, incorporating rotors with a Halbach arrangement, a solution derived from Formula 1.
Performance that does not disappoint
The front axle delivers 210 kW and can be fully disconnected to maximise efficiency, engaging automatically in all-wheel-drive mode when necessary. The rear axle, more powerful, delivers 620 kW. These four powertrains will be accompanied by a battery pack made up of 15 modules with 14 cells each, offering a gross capacity of 122 kWh and a charging power of up to 350 kW.
The new Ferrari Luce will undoubtedly be a unique vehicle. The most recent news we have just learned concerns the cabin and the user interface of the instrument panel and the central screen. The Italian manufacturer has worked closely for years with the creative firm LoveFrom, founded by the legendary designer Sir Jony Ive, previously linked to some of Apple’s most celebrated designs.

As can be seen in the images, the final result is a cross-cutting design language that embraces electric architecture as an opportunity to rethink every detail of the interior, from the instrument panel to the controls and the digital interface, always maintaining the essence of what Ferrari must represent.
A different electric car with its own character
The approach prioritises the analogue and tactile. The steering wheel, minimalist with aluminium elements, recalls classic sports cars, but integrates indicator buttons and rotary dials. The instrument graphics maintain a vintage style. On the centre console, classic toggle switches and an aluminium grab handle stand out. All essential controls, including the gear selector, are physical and analogue.

As in any other Ferrari, the steering wheel is one of the most prominent elements of the cabin, which includes the popular “Manettinos“, two in this case. The left one, called the E-Manettino, manages the driving modes: Range, Tour and Performance. The first limits power to 50 percent, the second to 70 percent, while the third and last offers maximum output. The right one adjusts the driving dynamics – ice, wet, dry or sport – allowing the stability control to be deactivated. An ADAS button also indicates the presence of autonomous driving assistance systems.

An innovative detail featured on the Ferrari Luce is the Torque Meter located above the rev counter. Similar to the gear shift indicator on combustion engines, in this case it signals the optimal moment at which the driver should increase torque. To do this, the old gear shift paddles now manually control the engine torque, allowing progressive acceleration combined with regenerative braking.
