Xpeng opens pre-sales of the Mona L03 SUV in China
With its combination of competitive pricing, advanced technical features and a focus on connectivity and youthful design, the Mona L03 aims to position itself as an attractive option in the competitive compact electric SUV segment worldwide.
The Mona L03, the first SUV from Xpeng’s sub-brand Mona, is now available for pre-order in China. The brand plans to hold its official launch on July 16 in Munich. This is no coincidence and underlines the clear global ambition of this electric model, developed from the outset with international markets in mind.
The L03 is the second model in the Mona series, after the M03 saloon. It will be available in fully electric -BEV- and range-extended -EREV- versions. Pre-order prices start at 143,800 yuan, which at the current exchange rate comes to roughly 18,500 euros, and it will be offered in six trim levels.

According to Xpeng, the fully electric versions will feature two battery options offering ranges of 525 and 625 km under the Chinese CLTC homologation cycle. Among its technical specifications, its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 6.6 seconds stands out, as does its support for 3C fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10 to 80 percent in under 20 minutes.
The EREV version, on the other hand, stands out for its large combined range of up to 1,330 km, with 315 km in fully electric mode.
With a clear goal
The L03 is designed to appeal especially to younger buyers. Its fastback-style aerodynamic silhouette measures 4.65 metres long, 1.92 metres wide and 1.60 metres high, with a wheelbase of 2.85 metres. It should also be noted that its development was led by an international team headed by JuanMa Lopez, former exterior designer at Ferrari.

Taking a look inside, the cabin stands out for its level of technology. It comes as standard with Xpeng’s Turing artificial intelligence chip: 750 TOPS of computing power in the base trim levels and up to 1,500 TOPS in the higher versions, which also feature the complete second-generation VLA (Vision-Language-Action) system. The cabin also includes a 15.6-inch central screen, a head-up display of almost 27 inches, a 20-speaker audio system and a passenger seat with zero-gravity and massage functions.
In terms of practicality, it offers 539 litres of boot space, expandable to 1,640 litres with the rear seats folded, plus 102 additional litres in the front boot and bidirectional charging with 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.
We will see it in Europe
Xpeng plans to launch the model simultaneously in 64 countries and regions over the course of this year. The L03 now arrives in the Chinese market at a strategic moment to revitalise the Mona sub-brand. The brand’s previous saloon, launched in that same market in 2024, reached around 176,000 deliveries in 2025, although deliveries have slowed in 2026.

Finally, it should be noted that the plant that will handle its production has not yet been confirmed, although for Europe there is speculation that it could be built at Magna Steyr’s plant in Graz, Austria.
