The XPENG L03 arrives in Spain boasting range and a price below 40,000 euros
XPENG begins sales in Spain of the L03 PowerX Long Range, with the first units arriving in December at a price of 37,500 euros

Last summer the Chinese brand XPENG announced that it would expand its line-up in Europe, and also in Spain, with a new SUV called the L03, which uses the brand’s technology known as REEV, or range-extended electric vehicle: an electric motor whose battery, when it loses energy, can also be supplied by the combustion engine acting as a generator, thereby considerably increasing range compared with a conventional electric car.
It’s worth recalling that the XPENG L03 reaches our country with a distinctly Spanish touch, as it was designed by Spaniard Juanma López, who previously worked at renowned brands such as Ferrari. It was shaped as a highly aerodynamic coupé, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.228 Cd, with a length of 4,650 mm, a width of 1,920 mm and a wheelbase set at 2,850 mm.

In its extended-range version, the XPENG L03 PowerX Long Range uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 178 kW in combination with a 1,500 cc petrol engine whose sole function is to act as a generator. Its 37.2 kWh LFP battery allows a WLTP-certified electric range of 215 km, while the range-extender system delivers a combined range of 1,017 km on the WLTP cycle. The battery accepts AC charging of up to 11 kW and DC charging of up to 123 kW, allowing it to go from 10% to 80% in about 20 minutes.

As for its minimalist interior, it features a 15.6-inch central screen on which practically all of the L03’s functions are gathered, combined with an 8.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 26.8-inch W-HUD head-up display that projects the image into the driver’s line of sight. Everything is controlled by the XOS6 operating system, which also includes a next-generation AI voice assistant, intelligent navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, free over-the-air updates and a high degree of personalisation.

This technology can be enjoyed by the five occupants the XPENG L03 can carry, who will also have at their disposal dual-zone automatic climate control with heat pump, electric heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and the XOPERA surround sound system with nine speakers. It offers up to 37 storage spaces spread throughout the vehicle, along with a boot of 367 litres, which increases when the rear seats are folded in a 40/20/40 configuration.

We should also not forget that the XPENG L03 comes as standard with driver assistance and safety systems such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and centring, traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, a 360º camera and parking assistance, among others.
The XPENG L03 PowerX Long Range can already be ordered in Spain, although the first units are not expected until December, subject to payment of the 37,500 euros starting price, which also includes campaigns and subsidies such as the Plan Auto+.
