E2 Geely Electric Cars Compact ECO
New Geely E2: the compact electric car arrives in Spain and you can reserve it from €13,990 with all discounts
The Geely E2 is available from €13,990 with financing. The new electric city car measures 4.13 metres, offers two battery options, up to 345 km of WLTP range and extensive standard equipment.
Geely continues to expand its presence in Spain with the arrival of the new Geely E2, a compact electric car designed to move around the city with ease without sacrificing a spacious cabin, high technology equipment and sufficient performance to also handle interurban journeys. The new Geely E2 will officially go on sale from 9 September, but the brand has already opened the advance reservation period. Until that date, customers who place a deposit of €500 will be able to benefit from an additional discount of the same amount on the launch campaign.
In this way, the Geely E2 PRO can be purchased from €13,990 with financing, a price that includes the commercial discounts, the advance reservation promotion and the aid corresponding to the Plan Auto+. Once the reservation period ends, the promotional price of the E2 PRO will rise to €14,490 under the same general financing and aid conditions. The cash price announced for this version is €20,280.
A compact electric car with up to 345 km of range
The Geely E2 measures 4.13 metres in length, a size that places it between city cars and traditional compacts. Its layout recalls that of models such as the Citroën ë-C3, the Renault 5 E-Tech, the BYD Dolphin Surf or the upcoming Volkswagen ID. Polo, although Geely’s model opts for a slightly longer body and an especially well-considered use of interior space. It is not a combustion car later adapted to electric propulsion. The E2 was developed from the outset on the Geely GEA architecture, designed specifically for electrified vehicles.
This platform allows the battery to be placed under the floor, frees up space for passengers and uses a mechanical configuration that is unusual in its category: rear-mounted motor and rear-wheel drive, accompanied by an independent multi-link suspension at the rear axle. These are solutions normally found in higher segments, and they should provide more balanced behaviour than many small electric cars with a front motor and a torsion beam rear axle.

The Spanish range is built around three trims, named PRO, PRO+ and MAX+, and two battery sizes.
The Geely E2 PRO uses a 35 kWh battery and is rated for:
- 252 km of range on the WLTP combined cycle.
- 368 km of range on the WLTP urban cycle.
This version is designed mainly for drivers who use the car in the city, make relatively short daily journeys and can charge frequently at home or at work.
The PRO+ and MAX+ trims feature a 47 kWh battery, which increases range to:
- 345 km on the WLTP combined cycle.
- 497 km on the WLTP urban cycle.
The larger battery considerably broadens its possibilities of use. Although the E2 remains a car aimed mainly at everyday mobility, those 345 homologated km and an interior that promises a lot of space make it possible to tackle interurban journeys, weekend getaways and even occasional longer trips with reasonable charging planning. The homologated urban consumption is 12.2 kWh/100 km for the E2 PRO and 12.8 kWh/100 km for the versions with the higher-capacity battery. These are very good figures for a compact, lightweight car intended to operate mainly in urban environments.
More space than its exterior size suggests
One of the main qualities of the Geely E2 is its use of space. The rear boot offers 375 litres of capacity, a very competitive figure for a 4.13-metre electric car. In addition, under the front bonnet there is a second compartment of 70 litres. This frunk is especially practical for storing charging cables, so they do not take up boot space or require removing luggage to reach them. Total capacity with all five seats in use therefore reaches 445 litres when both compartments are combined. By folding the rear seatbacks, split 60:40, the available space can increase to 1,320 litres.
The rear-mounted motor and the battery integrated into the platform free up space at the front and make better use of the car’s overall body length. Geely announces a cabin prepared for five passengers, although a test drive will be needed to verify the real space available in the rear seats and the comfort of the middle seat.

Rear-wheel drive is one of the most striking technical arguments of the E2, and Geely makes much of it. In a compact electric car, this layout separates the steering and propulsion functions. The front wheels are responsible for steering the car, while the rear wheels transmit power to the road. In theory, this can translate into cleaner steering, better traction when accelerating and more balanced behaviour. The rear axle uses an independent multi-link suspension, also rare at this price level. Compared with a torsion beam axle, it allows more precise control of each wheel’s movements and a better compromise between stability and comfort.
Geely states that the chassis has received a specific tuning for Europe. The aim has been to adapt the steering, suspension and general response of the vehicle to European roads and driver preferences. The car will need to be driven to know whether that work translates into a genuinely distinct feel, but the starting technical configuration looks promising.
The entire range comes as standard with the Flyme Auto Smart Cockpit system, headed by a 14.6-inch multimedia display. Flyme Auto is the digital platform Geely uses in its most recent models. It is designed to integrate navigation, connectivity, entertainment, vehicle settings and various intelligent functions into a common interface. The size of the screen is typical of much larger cars and becomes one of the main elements of the dashboard.

The final equipment for each trim has not yet been announced, but Geely does confirm that the basic specification will include heated seats and a large number of safety and driver-assistance systems. All versions of the Geely E2 include seven airbags and advanced level 2 driver assistance systems. The electronic architecture can integrate up to 36 safety-related functions, thanks to a comprehensive set of sensors and cameras.
Geely E2 price: what the €13,990 offer includes
To get a Geely E2 at the price of €13,990, a series of conditions must be met. This price includes the commercial discount and the financing offer, as well as €500 of additional discount on the list price if you make the advance reservation, which requires leaving a deposit of the same amount. The Plan Auto+ purchase aid, which in this case amounts to €3,375, is also included.
Geely has published how the financing looks, which provides for a down payment of €1,990, an arrangement fee of €420 and a financed amount of €12,000. Under these terms, 119 instalments of €152 and a final one of €151 are paid (the nominal interest rate applied is 8.99% and the APRC is 10.29%), so the total price in instalments comes to €20,643.36. The promotional price is therefore very eye-catching, at least in this entry-level PRO version and with the additional discount available by making the advance reservation.

On price and size, the Geely E2 will compete with alternatives such as the Citroën ë-C3, the Renault 5 E-Tech, the BYD Dolphin Surf, the Hyundai Inster, the Leapmotor T03 and other urban electric cars that aim to sit below €25,000 before aid. Geely’s model has several differentiating arguments: it is slightly larger than most urban electric cars but keeps very compact dimensions, which allows it to offer a 375-litre rear boot and a 70-litre front one, it has multi-link suspension and uses rear-wheel drive. The PRO version is clearly oriented to the city, with a 35 kWh battery and 252 km of range. For more versatile use, the PRO+ with its 47 kWh battery and 345 km should be considerably more interesting, pending knowledge of the price difference.
The first units will reach dealerships in September. That will be when we can check whether the behaviour, comfort and interior quality live up to the initial technical specifications that, on paper, place the new Geely E2 among the most interesting compact electric cars on the market.
